I was 10 minutes late to writing practice, tired, aimless, and pretty sure I don't know anything about editing. Turns out that's kind of the whole essay.
Yes, I feel this about my writing frequently. I start. Then stop. Start another idea. Never really getting where I tell myself i need to get. I think all we can do is keep on going, and that should be enough. Frequently it's not, but at least we're aware that we're trying.
It isn't enough for whom, though? Enough based on the random standards others put on us or we put on ourselves. What if just keeping on is enough, no matter what anyone else says or thinks? We have become such a results-driven society; what if what matters is the practice and the process? That's what I'm going to tell myself, anyway. 😉
